| Points3. Suwannakhuha Cave Temple is a small, isolated limestone mountain located in a flat area. It is bordered to the east and south by the Tham Canal, which flows into Phang Nga Bay. The mountain features steep cliffs and a large cave within the Permian-age limestone. The cave entrance displays dolomite rock, characterized by cracks resembling elephant skin, dating back approximately 250-280 million years. Stalactites and stalagmites are found throughout the site, with some areas exhibiting drapery formations protruding from the cave walls. Suwannakhuha Cave comprises nine smaller caves. It attracts many foreign tourists, and there is a ticket booth and signs prohibiting inappropriate attire. Fluorescent lighting has been installed in the main cave, the bright cave, and the dark cave. Some parts of the cave have had their floors paved with concrete. | |
